Since 2011, Jim has led Maresca Money Management, where he brings this broad executive experience directly to individuals and families seeking clarity and confidence in their financial lives. Clients benefit from his disciplined approach, his ability to simplify complex decisions, and his decades of real‑world leadership in environments where accuracy, accountability, and long‑term thinking truly matter. His advisory practice is built on the same principles that have defined his career: thoughtful analysis, steady guidance, and a commitment to helping people make informed decisions that support their future.

Before becoming an advisor, Jim had more than forty years of experience guiding organizations through growth, complexity, and strategic decisionmaking. His career included senior leadership roles in technology, public service, and business development, where he built national sales forces, secured multimilliondollar contracts, and led companies through major transitions. As CEO of NextBus Information Systems, he grew the firm from four employees to forty, secured three rounds of angel funding, and oversaw deployments in 22 transit agencies nationwide—including a $9.6 million contract with San Francisco Municipal Railway. Earlier roles at Trimble Navigation, Oracle, and Context Integration further strengthened his expertise in financial modeling, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.

Jim’s work has always centered on solving complex problems and restoring stability—whether guiding a startup to market, negotiating major technology partnerships, or stepping in as Interim Executive Director of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce to rebuild trust and financial footing after a crisis. His long record of board service, including Occidental Center for the Arts, Monte Rio School Board, West County Community Services, Palm Drive Hospital, and Sebastopol Center for the Arts, reflects a deep commitment to community stewardship and responsible governance.

He has also authored a book, Sane Investing for Insane Times, which is available on Amazon.
